This 19x24 drawing explores the birds ability to amplify a characters emotion with their unique contributions to composition. The title "My First Song" is a nod to Jay-Z's "The Black Album" track as I was listening to it when I was first inspired to make the piece. The birds both amplify and confuse the upset of the girl, to show my own relationship to the species.
